You're right. At the end, Bruce pulls her up on stage to dance.

I remember reading, either at the time, or after she became a household name via Friends, that it wasn't totally random, him choosing her to dance, however, there were 3 girls in total, and they didn't know which one he'd choose, so when she was the one he chose, her shock/surprise was genuine.
