I use mine about twice a month, sometimes less. I use it for beef or pork roasts with potatoes and carrots.
Some of us can do both!Originally Posted by Dragoriana

Reynolds makes crock pot liners. They're like a big plastic baggie that goes into the crock pot, then your food. It helps with cleanup! I have a brand new box in the cupboard but I keep forgetting to use them! I only remember AFTER the food is already in there. Doh! So I can't really tell you if they work or not.Originally Posted by PookieBoy
Crock pot liners? Never heard of them! Are they aluminum or something? Do you use them so you don't have to wash out the liner? Where can I buy them? How much do they cost?
I almost never use my crock pot. My sister gave me a big 6 qt. one for XMas and frankly, it's just too big for only me. The only thing I've made in mine is Italian roast beef (for sandwiches), for the whole family who came over during Super Bowl.
They are made to work, while your gone for the whole day.so you don't have to cook when you get home! What is cowboy stew? I use mine quite ofternOriginally Posted by MoochNNoodles
I've been using mine more often lately. I don't like using it when I'm not home though, so now that I'm getting back to work it'll be only on weekends. My favorite recipe is Cowboy Stew from bettycrocker.com. It's simple and soooo tasty!
My Mom uses the liners and said they work great! I forget about buying them too!
OMG Kelly, that sounds so great...I may do that for the Super bowlOriginally Posted by clixpix
I love my crock pot!
My favorite thing I make is a put a roast in there, and then add 2 or 3 envelopes of Lawry's au jus and water (to package directions), and cook the meat all day. The roast just falls apart, and I split open crusty rolls, put beef, giardinara sauce, covered with a slice of mozarella cheese, I broil that until the cheese is melted, put the sandwich together, and use the au jus for dipping!
Usually I buy whatever roast is on sale. Honestly, if you cook it 6 hours, any roast tastes great! You should make it for Superbowl...it's really awesome!Originally Posted by Bella713

Pulled pork or Beef BBQ
A large Pork or Beef Roast (how many lbs depends on how many people you are feeding and how big your crockpot is)
1 Large Granny Smith Apple Cut in half and seeded
1 Lg onion Quartered
2 Garlic Cloves Minced (for softer garlic flavor add in whole cloves)
3-4 Bottles of your Fav BBQ sauce ( I like Kraft honey flavor)
1/2 Tea Pepper
Mix 1 bottle of BBQ sauce with one bottle of water in your crock pot add the onion, garlic and apple. Put roast in liquid in the crockpot and judge level of liquid add more(equal parts of water and BBQ) if needed just enough to cover the roast. Cook for 8 hrs on low or around 6 hrs on high. Untill fork tender.
When the roast is fork tender take roast out of crock pot and put in a large bowl. Now pull the roast apart, Once the roast is pulled apart add enough BBq Sauce to your liking if you like it saucy add moreI add salt at the end if needed. BBQ sauce has salt in it so I dont add it while cooking the roast.
I usually put this on a hamburger bun and serve with cole slaw and fries.
