Thank you all for all of your terrific advice when I was having problems at my cat colony down the street. One kitty was injured with a bad bite on the head that had to be attended to, and the other members of the colony were terrified to come eat at dinnertime.
The injured cat has since healed, and all members of the colony now come regularly to eat without fear. We never found out what predator was tormenting them all, but the two pit bulls that lived at the house on one side of the colony, have been replaced by a tiny dog instead. The house on the other side of the colony who also had two large dogs that liked to chase the cats, have gone home to Indiana. Whatever happened, thank God all is peaceful with my little colony. I am grateful!
