Freaking out a bit at the realization that today is the last day in my 30s. I was fine until that realization hit!!!
I commiserate with you, that was a tragic day for me too but it will pass

Now celebrate that you have made it another day above ground

This is a big birthday so celebrate, celebrate, celebrate

I remember my last day of my 30's.  I was equally unhappy about it.  Oddly enough, this didn't carry over to the next day when I turned 40. Suddenly I was in a new decade and at the very beginning, not the end.  It felt much better that way!

Speaking of anniversaries:  Today is Chula and Paul's Gotcha Day!!    It's been two years since these dear beings entered my life and brought me such love and joy.

Happy Gotcha Day, Chula and Paul!

And thanks to everyone for the early birthday greetings. I had the flu for my 30th birthday, so didn't really care so much, lol. I don't even remember turning 20 - I think I was excited for being less than a year from 21, haha. I'm not unhappy about turning 40 per se, and I'm sure tomorrow I'll just be excited because it's my birthday. Although, I don't have anything planned because there ain't a dang thing going on. What a waste of a night where I can sleep in the next day.

Try thinking of birthdays as an excuse to party, preferably with presents.  That's all they really are -- they say nothing about you as a person.  The only ones that make any real difference in your life are attaining your majority, becoming old enough to get a driver's license, becoming old enough to get a senior discount, becoming old enough for Medicare, and becoming old enough to receive Social Security.  Oh, yes.  And every few years you need to renew your driver's license around the time of your birthday.  That's it.  All else is frosting on the (birthday) cake.

I am so annoyed at my mother right now!  Big surprise there, right?  *sarcastic eye roll*  She dropped my sister off at her boyfriend's Friday with a lot of rules to follow if she is to continue living there.  The rules (I think) are pretty reasonable for the most part.  The problem?  One of those rules is that Danielle has to call/text her every day.  Well, it sounds reasonable until you realize that Danielle was dropped off Friday with no money and her phone bill was due today.  I almost feel like my mother was setting her up to fail so she could say, "Well, I tried but you didn't follow my rules so now you have to come back."  So, I'm paying the phone bill for her this time so she'll have time to find a job or some way of paying it before it's due again.  Urg!

There can be a lot of reasons for bathing cats.  Personally, I avoid it unless it's ABSOLUTELY necessary.  Especially with Mickey.  He's quite the little murder floof when water is involved.  He got a bath when he first moved in because he smelled like car exhaust.  I think he missed becoming a pancake by a very narrow margin.  And then he got another bath a few weeks ago when he sneaked out to the hallway and came back in smelling like he'd rolled in something rotten.  Someone suggested that maybe a neighbor's trash leaked.  I can't think of any other explanation.
How much are phone bills? It might be a good idea to go down to something more managable. There are plans that are pay by month for like 25 dollars a month.
I got my smartphone for something like $20 from TextNow (used but refurbished) and pay around $14/month for service.  It's linked to my debit card; I just have to make sure I have enough money there during the first week of every month.  I have a very low data limit, but it's VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol), and anything that merely uses Wifi is free.  So I typically keep my phone in airplane mode with Wifi turned on and I have unlimited texting and calling as long as I'm in range of a Wifi account I can sign into.  I only take it out of airplane mode if I need to make a call when I'm out and about, or if I need to be out and about and am expecting a call.

I don't mean this as spam, and I'm not associated with TextNow in any way, except as a user.  I just want people to be aware of the options.

Think of it this way: you have survived another year, and that is an accomplishment that you should celebrate!

A day to celebrate, to be sure.

That's about how much my phone bill is, although I have to shell out for a card every two months.

Happy birthday!  And I'm gonna help my sister look into other phone options when I get back from Texas but she needed it paid right away and there wasn't time to look.

Happy birthday and happy gotcha day.

I'm finishing up my packing and getting on a plane tomorrow.  Then another plane and another.  LOL.  Three flights to get there.  It's gonna be a long day, but I love flying.

Happy Birthday!!!

I remember when I turned 40 I still felt like a kid.  If anyone wants to hear, the fallout from the office party for my birthday is funny.  But when I turned 41, I felt old.  Big difference.

I need to vent guys.

That stupid nurse-practitioner screwed me over worse than I thought.  Since the appointment I've gotten worse, a lot worse.  I attributed it to an increase in the dose of the anti-depressant.

Last appointment the stupid NP added a new medicine to my daily regimen.  The very next day she sent me an email saying she was withdrawing as my provider.  So until my new patient appointment on the 16th, I have no medical provider for psychiatric issues right now.

I have had immense trouble sleeping and I realized that the problem started about when the new medicine would have started showing up at a decent level in my blood.  So I went on Drugs.com to look and see if that's a side effect.  I doubted it since the NP and the pharmacist said that sleepiness was the big concern, but it never hurts to look.

Drugs.com has a list of major side effects and says that if you experience any of them to contact your doctor immediately, without delay.  Trouble sleeping is one.  So are anger, angry outbursts, paranoia, quick to react/overreact emotionally, rapidly changing moods, and mood or mental changes.  I have every single one of those, I attributed it to the antidepressant and I have no medical professional I can talk to about whether I should stop this medicine....until the 16th.  How the heck am I going to last that long?

Tomorrow I'm calling the pharmacist and getting her opinion.  I have a regular doctor appointment on the 2nd but since I'm going in for something else I'm not sure the doctor will talk to me about it without making me save it for another appointment.  Some doctors do that, you have to come back to talk about an unrelated problem.

I think the review on Healthgrades.com that I will be making is going to be very, very poor.

Sounds like it should be. I can't believe she just dropped you like that!
That is not  supposed to happen. I wish you the best of luck and lots hugs that you feel better soon.

Well, I'm not getting another day off this workweek, and I'm unloading the truck solo. Here's what happened; I originally thought it was no big deal that one of my third-shift trained coworkers quit because, hey, thanks to the new policy of the manager (that every  new hire gets trained to work every  shift), there are two more at my store. Well. One of them has been having trouble with her children having night terrors (no joke and insanely hard on everyone involved) and the other had to go out of town for a family emergency. (I think he split to enjoy spring break in Florida, but I'll reserve judgement until he's back.) So--no more days off this week. Friday was it. (Hey, at least I got off an hour early this morning!
)

That's actually not the worst of it. It wouldn't be that bad, except  we're also having water issues. (And yes, for the forseeable future, we're drinking bottled.) I don't know what's  in the water, but every time I shower I start itching. (Before we started getting bottled water I was also bloated, constipated, and excessively cranky.) So, for the past few days showering has been a competition of will against itch as I try not to scratch my skin off while I get clean. (Whatever this stuff is, it's gone when the water's dried off my body.)
It's a good thing we don't have an abrasive sponge--I wouldn't have any skin left  if we did.

A Google search said it could be the minerals in it and that a water softener filter will stop the itchy skin.  It also recommended things like Calgon in bath water and taking the bath instead of a shower as Calgon works as a water softener.

Donutte happy birthday!!!!!!!! Yes I felt strange turning 40. Have a good night!!

Margd Happy gotcha day to Chula and Paul!!

Tally-that sounds so frustrating!! I get very cranky when people don't leave the air alone. Either heat is on super high or ac is off and air cleaner is off. I gave up with a dehumidifier not being kept full. Its frustrating living with someone whose body temp is very different than your own.

Someone asked why i bathed Honeybee. Three times. First time was because she had fleas. Second time was in preparation for the cat show in 2014. The third, she had an accident with poop and it was the only way to clean it up. We now try to keep fur clipped on her backend for this reason. She absolutetly hates it and bites. So we dont get the chance as much.

Floey was getting greasy fur and just yucky. I bath her every December except for the last December we didnt do a bath. We were getting her fur clipped twice a year to help. She was getting pretty fluffy in her old age. It's been strange not having Floey around.

Pumps only got a bath as a kitten as she came to me full of worms n fleas. She's the most easy going.

This NP sounds very unprofessional.  Is there a regulating body you can report her behavior to?  I would let your doctor know about the new issue and see what happens.  If this is a doctor you have an established patient relationship with then they maybe willing to step up and help you with this situation.  Make sure you bring a list of all your current medications and dosages with you to your appointment since your doctor will need it if they are willing to help.  Also perhaps you could try asking your doctor's office if there is anyone else they could refer you to.  If there is another doctor in that your doctor has a working relationship with maybe they will be able to schedule you faster.  It would not hurt to at least ask your current doctor for options here.  If there is nothing your current doctor can do perhaps they can be a resource to find someone who can help you at least in the short-term.  I am not sure where you live or if this is possible but perhaps you can reach out to some of the local hospitals in your area to give you options short-terms. Maybe one of the hospitals has an outpatient facility they work with for providing short-term help.   Some medical professionals really do care about the well-being of their patient's.  Also try contacting your insurance company to see if there are other options for referrals that would be covered. Years ago I had a painful dental issue that required care quickly.  My hubby helped me get an emergency appointment with his dentist. He gave me a referral to a specialist but I was in pain and would have had to wait over a month for an appointment.  My dentist reached out other dentists he knew and asked if they had any other specialists they worked with for referrals.  One of these places was able to get me an appointment in 2 days. If I had not reached out and asked for help I would have been in a lot of pain for a month.  You never know what someone is willing to do unless you ask.

Cannot get off my mind, though I have tried, an article on the dailymail website on Monday. Video included. A mother in China was kicking her toddler little girl. Google it at your peril. The child, apparently, is now in her grandparents' care. How a mother can kick a defenseless child like that is beyond me. Profoundly depressing.

Now I'm really p*ssed off. According to the pharmacist what the NP told me she was prescribing and what she prescribed are two totally different things.

Edit: I don't have a regular doctor. I hate going to the doctor with a passion. If it's not psychiatric, I'll deal with it myself.
