I fear gnomes may have eaten my SS's gift as well... Though nothing should have angered the gnomes and I made sure to keep everything well within relms of customs. Dang those gnomes! I so wanted it to get there before christmas....

Now, I'm just hoping it gets there at all!

I'll have you know it was hard work stuffing cotton in the top of that gown. I didn't want him to get too top heavy and tip over.

I got it!!! It was amazing! Thank you SS!! Everything was in a beautiful basket with cellophene wrapping and it big bow...it was SO pretty (and the cats just loved playing with the cello. I got a huge vanilla candle from Home Trends that is heavenly, and 2 votives to go with it. An adorable metal kitty ornament with "Secret Santa" ingraved on it, a Nascar Tony Stewart tree ornament :yay: and a tube of chapstick I desperately need (I've already gone through 2 tubes already this season...I'm addicted). Oh, also a ton of reese cups

. The cats got a big container of treats and an obscene number of cat toys, and she even remembered my doggies with a bag of treats for them and 2 squeaky toys, one of which is already in shreds!

The Secret Santas have outdone themselves this year

Oh gosh -- Brooke looks just like Maggie, the sweet little dog my mother and I fell in love with last year at the shelter where we volunteer! We had always taken care of the cats only, because we know nothing about dogs... but we decided to take a dog for a walk. Five minutes into the walk, we were hopelessly in love with her, and when we took her back to her cage, we stood there hugging her and getting all teary-eyed. Sheesh!

We brought my father back with us the next day to meet her, preparatory to possible adoption -- which was insane, with a houseful of cats already -- but Maggie had already gone home with someone else.

Needless to say, we've never dared to walk another dog!

Oh, please give beautiful Brooke a nice warm hug from me?

I can't wait to get home tonight and confirm my package has arrived. The only problem is I will not be able to post immediately as I still don't have a telephone line working! I will go to the internet cafe tomorrow and let you all know, but I can't post pix from there as there is no USB port. If it is there I shall take pix and post them as soon as I can. I feel like I am living in a third world country, not a major European power. I had better connections when I lived in Bosnia. It is so frustrating and every time France Telecom tell me it is fixed, I discover it isn't.
