R raysmyheart Thank you! I tried to pick a color that would offset the black well.
I just got a package of Christmas presents from my aunt to the kittens. It’s been lots of fun watching them play with their new toys.
They love the tunnel.

They are having loads of fun with the activity center.

Percy isn’t a big fan of the unicorn hat, though.

Of course, the box is the best part.

AmyTheKittyMommy AmyTheKittyMommy -- you have a wonderful aunt! My Elvis loves our tunnel, too, which I got out of the garage a few months ago and put in the office. But you're right, of course -- the box is ALWAYS the best part according to cats and kittens. Adorable pix -- such cuties! :cutecat::kneading::lovecat3::lovecat4:

I took the Fabulous Ferals a special treat today: leftover diced ham, and diced fried chicken, mixed with wet food. They are getting used to me already ("Hey guys! There's that red-haired pushover in the green Subaru!"); they come running out when they see my car, and one almost walked up to me. They devoured their feast, along with two buzzard diners, side-by-side. It makes my heart happy to help take care of them--even the buzzards.

My positive news is that we've got our kotatsu working! It's a kind of heated table that you put a blanket over so you can sit at the table with your toes all toasty and warm. Like this one, although ours is a bit bigger.

We've had the table for a few years but have just been using it as a regular table. This week we got an new electrical cord for it and went shopping for a blanket and a rug to go underneath. It's so warm!

The kitties are in heaven. They all went,

"You made us a heated cat cave!? OMG OMG OMG OMG!

I'll post some pictures of them all snuggled under there soon.

Earlier John showed me a video of a dog catching treats that were thrown in the air. It reminded me of the dog my high school best friend used to have. He lived to a good old age before crossing the rainbow bridge. His name was Ripley. He lived catching treats and he used to dance with me in the kitchen. He'd hop up on his back legs and put his paws in my hands and we'd dance around. Fun memories.

Love raising money for needy cats! In the late spring we had several kittens show up in our barn. None of them look alike. One is a siamese. My husband spent all summer trying to get close to them and finally got the siamese tamed. He is now a shop cat. We took him for a vet visit and got him shots and neutered last week. It looks like he’s found his forever home. I would love to have him in the house but I already have 2.

John is laughing at me as I sit here cheering Marcy on in her epic battle against the evil invisible bathtub monster.
It's the cutest thing ever. She climbs in the bathtub and just goes nuts! She's hissing and growling and jumping around, clawing and biting. ...
You have an invisible bathtub monster too? Oh dear, this might be an epidemic. Luckily we have our feline companions to keep us safe! Three cheers to our kitty protectors!
Feeling nostalgic after reading Alicia88 Alicia88 and @Ceeedge posts about invisible bathtub monsters. My King Sunny angel used to LOVE playing football -- the real international kind -- with foam footballs in the tub. He'd have hours of fun in there thrashing about batting these! And shortly before beloved Rani angel ascended, she did a little tubbing, too. Then there was Samuda angel, who was so curious one time when I was in the bath that he decided to join me. Next thing I know, he was careening around the house like he was shot from a cannon! I had to chase him down and towel him because he was soaked and panicked.
Those are beloved memories. Today I have my tortoiseshell laptop fidgeting while I *try to* work. Life is good.

These posts make me smile, :wave3:
Bathtub monsters! So cute, and I love them too!
My cat used to be one till I put real monsters in the tub (penguin safety stickers). Oh well, now she has reverted back to being a happy tunnel monster!

edit: Someone else please post so I can post my "Snorgel" toy message! I almost got it deleted because I accidentally posted after myself, ack!

Norachan Norachan I've heard of kotatsus - they're not only practical, but must be heaven for pets!

I usually clean the downstairs Thursday afternoons, but realized just before I got started that it didn't make any sense to do it today since we're having company Christmas Eve and I'd just have to do it all over again on the weekend. That gave me some extra free time.

Don't forget to set aside all of the cat toys you attempted to interest your cat in this past year, and see if you can donate the rejected toys (lol, picky cats!) to your local cat shelter. Always check with the rescue/shelter first, but I know that the rescue where we got our kitty essentially has a toy drive each year for jingle balls and mice.
