John is laughing at me as I sit here cheering Marcy on in her epic battle against the evil invisible bathtub monster.
It's the cutest thing ever. She climbs in the bathtub and just goes nuts! She's hissing and growling and jumping around, clawing and biting. Either there really is an evil monster or she has a very active imagination. But she stops if she catches you watching so I'm just listening in and offering cheers and encouragement from my spot on the couch.

You have an invisible bathtub monster too? Oh dear, this might be an epidemic. Luckily we have our feline companions to keep us safe! Three cheers to our kitty protectors!

We just got a NEW KITTY. She's the first one that we've had in years and she's SO outgoing and friendly, even though it's only been 2 days since she arrived. This tortie has an opinion about EVERYTHING and she's not afraid to vocalize it!! I love her.

Congrats! Our Neely was a torbie, (part tortie/part tabby), and that so called opinion about everything is called "Tortitude." Enjoy your new precious girl.

As the temperatures dip here I am thankful I have the best hot water bottle of all, a four-legged furry bundle.

I just subscribed to the newly-announced cat site newsletter and I can't wait to see it! I'm sure Speedy will enjoy it, too. One of the most relaxing moments of my day is when I come home from work and have Speedy on my lap, looking at all the postings and seeing her furr friends here, watching all the cursors and MOUSES moving, or should I say mice. You can see her eyes going all around, following the action. Of course, it gets a little trickier when I want to enjoy a coffee too.

I'm officially done Christmas shopping! I'm sure DH will celebrate when he hears that too.

A couple of months ago, I ordered a hammock from Staples (long story, but it's a great portable hammock with base) & Luciano LOVES the box it came in. He had done major damage to all four sides of it & I was contemplating having to toss it, but then I realized I could just flip it over & it will be good for another couple of months at least. Maybe it will even be more stable now that the open flaps are on the ground. Needless to say, he's a tall boy and uses his front claws on it.

It's so dark here today it hardly feels like we've had a daytime. I know it's almost the shortest day but it's strangely warm so at least it could be light some of the time. It makes me think I should be in my PJs and snoozing 24/7, and I have to go back to work tomorrow so have to find some way to fill myself with energy. I'm thinking pester Mouse and go bake a sticky toffee pudding.

We had a potluck at work today=SUCCESS. Everything is GONE. Got to go finish cleaning up and wash dishes and change the trash=the mac and cheese I made was a success-who knew I could cook! old fashioned mac n cheese-no white sauce-extra sharp cheese/butter/cheese/ritz cracker crumb top.

Feeling nostalgic after reading Alicia88 and Ceeedge posts about invisible bathtub monsters. My King Sunny angel used to LOVE playing football -- the real international kind -- with foam footballs in the tub. He'd have hours of fun in there thrashing about batting these! And shortly before beloved Rani angel ascended, she did a little tubbing, too. Then there was Samuda angel, who was so curious one time when I was in the bath that he decided to join me. Next thing I know, he was careening around the house like he was shot from a cannon! I had to chase him down and towel him because he was soaked and panicked.
Those are beloved memories. Today I have my tortoiseshell laptop fidgeting while I *try to* work. Life is good.

We just got word our office is closing 2pm tomorrow & Friday! I'm so happy that I'll have time to do some last-minute shopping before it gets dark. I love getting home when it's still light out & surprising my kitty. He's usually asleep and not waiting at the door for me like he is at night.

I don't know what I'd do without my furry saviors. Without them, I wouldn't even know that I need protection from the bathtub monster or the Junebug that sneaked in last summer or a million other hidden dangers!
