Productive day! I did half my math planning for the rest of the year this morning then headed to my parents' house to go through and condense some of my old stuff. Also, because I fail at changing my amazon address this ended up there

I wrapped it up for tomorrow. I'm way too excited about this.

Thank you Shane Kent Shane Kent It was a water based stain, which I guess is why it's gone so lumpy. It's painting on alright if I stir it up first of all though. I'll have to make sure I bring any left over paints indoors at the end of the year.

My positive for the day is that I was going to start cleaning off and painting the deck this afternoon, but just as I was moving all the flower pots it started to rain. So I took a nap instead.

Happy Birthday to Lelia as well!!

:dance::bday::dance::bday:

Today's positive is almost done the work day and I am consumed by the book Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon=a lovely book that ties in 1745 time period of Scotland and England and then in 1946ish same area. I love finding good well thought out books to read! :bunnydance::bunnydance::bunnydance::bunnydance:

Back to work in the am at 6-hopefully tonight I actually SLEEP..it's been hard to readjust my sleeping but I know it will happen soon..and it's only until April 25ish so I can deal with it..

Oh we got a bit of snow coming this evening which gives me the perfect opportunity to read!!! Which is my fav thing to do!

Beautiful flower pix! Miss our lilacs in the Mojave. They'd be blooming right about now, I think.

It's FRIDAY, which is my favorite day of the week besides CATurday, and another beautiful cool, cloudy-ish day! The dog next door has stopped barking (for the moment, anyway) and cats are enjoying their clean, soft, fluffy blankets I washed for them yesterday. Lunchtime! Now THAT's a bunch of PAWsitives!:runningcat::runningcat::runningcat:

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 - Love the lilacs but more so the items on the table / cabinet behind it. Better watch out, better not cry, because Santa might grab them for me if I do a bit of cobbler work for him :) The whole world! His feet are still sore.

Happy Birthday to Lelia, I would wish you had a good day but it is The Cat Site so I am sure you had a Magnificent Day :)

It is now 8:45 PM Eastern Time and Karen is done work. I stayed late at work and she is gonna be picking me up soon. I have to do a lot this weekend and if I miss anything always know if it is Pawsitive I am absolutely gonna Purraise it :)

The big blue vase and the cat and seat with silk plant, I bought from neighbors who were moving. Table and sideboards are from IKEA. Lamp was from a unique shop. Candleholders were a wedding present. I bought the cat plant/holder at our local grocery store up there in the Mojave. Rattan chair was from a unique shop. And the Octavia E. Butler book, of course, came from a bookshop. All very PAWSitive items in my life, along with the beautiful lilacs in a florist vase, in a bowl which was a wedding present from ex's folks, so I let him keep that.

Happy birthday to Lelia, Lari Lari
Heading home in the snow, PAWsitive that spring is on the way. Think the ground hog should be fired! Enjoying the floral pictures people are sharing. Keeps me positive with thoughts of things to come soon. Thank you.

It's a Wisteria, not an orchid. You can see the empty curled-up seed pod behind the flower that looks like a pea pod and that is what a Wisteria has. Wisterias are a vine which can be trained into a tree and they can get to be humongous if not pruned. They look lovely on a trellis or over an arbor and come in various shades of purple which bloom every year. There is also a yellow variety, one grew in a neighbor's yard when I lived in WA.View attachment 225757

I love lilacs but they are very hard to grow here. There is a botanical garden not too far from here where there are some and I have read of a few individuals who have them in their backyards. That was one thing that I loved when I lived in WA.View attachment 225756 I can practically smell their scent just looking at the picture.

segelkatt segelkatt - That yellow Wisteria surely looks a lot like my Laburnum (Golden Chain Tree); I never realised they were so similar.

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 - Reading Octavia Butler's Fledgling I see. Did you know that she was born only about 3 miles from Glendale?

I had my first full server crash ever yesterday afternoon, and expected to be offline until Monday. Thankfully, a call to my IT specialist this morning brought him out this afternoon, and with a few magic words, *presto* - back online again!

Happy Birthday Leila. We can't wait to see those pictures Lari Lari

We had a storm last night, but none of the big trees came down. One small one fell, but it got caught on the tree next to it and I was able to bring it down without damaging the fence.

:yess:

I wish I had my own chain saw to help me keep the cat's enclosure safe......

Norachan Norachan , please be careful with the trees!

mama africa mama africa , the storks have built a nice, sturdy nest it seems. How wonderful you caught one of the storks with head peering over the nest for us to see!

My pawsitive is our question of the day here on tcs, which is about whether we have plans to travel this summer. Well, it got me thinking of my favorite beach and I then discovered this Beach has a Beachcam online which I am viewing now, seeing the waves roll in and people walking near the shore! Oh, I feel like I am there!

I visited the stork family on the local cemetery in Mice and they seem to be fine; one of the parents was breeding on the nest. I can't wait to see the chicks !
I guess the storks are happy with the bright weather.

mama africa mama africa - There are two breeding pair of Bald Eagles this year as before - one at the river's edge, and the second high up in an Ash tree at the edge of the high bank. I'll trade you a couple of Eagles for a couple of Storks!

Huge positive here today - my IT tech now has everything up and running as before, and that makes it a great day!

1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine No, I didn't know that! She's another favorite writer of mine. L.A. is such a creative hub! I love that energy, a lot of which is very PAWSitive.
Great that the tech was able to solve your issue. I tend to avoid techs like the plague because a lot of them, I've found, do not know what they're saying/doing and leave the situation worse than it was in the beginning, so I'm my own tech support, for the most part. It's always great to deal with a tech who not only knows what (s)he's doing but knows how to dialogue with the customer, because if you don't know how to ask the question, you stand a good chance of not getting your issue dealt with.

1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine - I like eagles, but I'm not in favour of (wild) bird trade and I guess you can't offer the stork pair a more original nesting spot than the one they have chosen here in Mice :).

I will continue to post pictures of the pair and their chicks to come.

Today was a very bright and sunny day ; the magnolia flowers opened gracefully.

Norachan Norachan I posted the party pictures over in the birthday thread and made another thread to be mushy in, so I probably won't repost anything here.

I finished my math planning for the rest of the year, so I feel pretty good about that. I actually feel refreshed and ready to go back to school. Lelia is still enjoying the new wand attachments - we did the sparkler last night (which she was enthralled with) and the kitty puff this morning (which she tried to eat the feathers even though I told her it wasn't a real birdie. We'll try out the new da bird feather later.

All in all, it's been a pleasant spring break.

segelkatt segelkatt - That yellow Wisteria surely looks a lot like my Laburnum (Golden Chain Tree); I never realised they were so similar.

That is not surprising, they are both in the same family as peas but Wisterias are native to the Far East and Laburnum are native to Central and Southern Europe.

1CatOverTheLine 1CatOverTheLine happy belated bday to Lance and Peanut!

Also, thanks to tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 and segelkatt segelkatt for the flower ID. I'm sure like a bona fide horticultural expert before too long! (Read: never, but thanks for making me sound smart if anyone asks about those specific plants.)

I've been MIA this weekend because my hair dye supplier discontinued my color, and against my better judgement I tried their suggested replacement color, which was nothing like the right one. Way too dark. So I've literally spent the weekend washing my hair, which up till now I just imagined was a 1930s excuse for women to get out of dates.
For those who don't know, I'm a bottle redhead, and my hair is my most favorite thing about my appearance, so I was pretty bummed out about this color mishap, which is now a burgundy-tinted brown mess. I've been using the same red color ten years, and the thought of finding another "natural looking" alternative is daunting. After all my whining and moaning, the silver lining was realizing that although I have to face work and other people tomorrow feeling less than my best, my kitties and pup still love me completely! They probably can't even see my hair color (although they might not like the dye and shampoo smell.) To be loved unconditionally is a pretty big PAWsitive, in my book. So, even if my hair falls out in an attempt to get it red again, I'll still have my pets and TCS friends! ;)
