Thank you everyone!

Happy B-day Toffee and Fudge!... 2 very handsome boys. You adopted them as a pair too... thank you for doing that.
I always wanted two cats, since I've heard a lot of stories of cats being lonely by themselves, so figured it would be better to adopt a pair. :) Toffee and Fudge were from a litter of 4 and they were the last kittens in the shelter, so of course when I saw them I fell in love and had to have them! They used to be semi-feral and had already been in the shelter for a few months beforehand as they had to be socialised. Now they love our company, especially our laps!

Twelve years ago today our very first litter with kittens destined to be shown was born here at Posiepurrs. The story is mildly amusing. I knew that Savannah was in labor but I had to work. Luckily I was scheduled in late and the girl who was working in the morning agreed to stay late. I delivered 2 kittens (the silver and tabby) and labor seemed to stop. I waited for 3 1/2 hours and then went into work. My oldest son got home from work about half and hour after I left. He called me panicked because she was in labor again! I told him to watch her and make sure she cleaned the face of the kitten. She had the 2 goldens in the litter with him attending her. He told me after that he NEVER wanted to have kids! He is now the father of an almost 8 year old daughter - so that didn't work for birth control! ;) The entire litter stayed here because when they were old enough to go to the new homes, the economy had tanked and no one was interested in paying for a kitten. We lost the only male in the litter (a beautiful golden boy) at 5 to an undiagnosed heart issue, but all the girls are still here, living a very spoiled life. I showed the golden boy (Solidago) and the silver girl (Lotus). Lotus (AKA Lottie) is the mother of Jack (GP RW Posiepurrs Jacaranda) and Camie (GC Posiepurrs Camellia), my first home bred grands. The birthday cats are Lotus, Tabitha, Zippy, and rainbow bridge kitty Solidago.
