Suggestions needed

A friend recently got a 10 week old siamese kitten but it won't have anything to do with their 2 year old cat. The older cat follows her around and sniffs her and watches her, but their kitten wants nothing to do with him. She will hiss at him if he gets anywhere close to her. Any suggestions...

Helen, just tell your friend to give it time, and keep the two separated for a bit until they can get used to sharing their space. Generally, cats are quite sociable between other cats it just takes an adjustment period.
