I recently lost one of the feral cats that I've been feeding for almost two years. She just disappeared. I have no idea what happened to her. She's been gone now for almost two weeks, so I've pretty much accepted that she's not coming back. I named her Shadow, and she was such a sweetheart. She had gotten to the point where she would sit on my lap and loved to play with cat toys. She started to come in my house about three months ago when I opened the door in the morning to feed her. I began to feel really bad that I couldn't take her in because I already have four indoor cats, and my house is not that big. She really wanted to be part of our family, and now I feel really guilty that I didn't let her. Maybe if I had, she wouldn't have disappeared. Her sister Butter still comes every day to get fed or just hang out, and a tomcat my husband and I call Tigger (I'm pretty sure Tigger is Shadow and Butter's dad) still comes to feed.
Now I'm worried about poor Butter. She has no running mate; I'm so afraid for her. I'm thinking about trying to find her an owner. I would miss her terribly, but I don't know what else to do.
