Hi there,
Pogo, my dearest 13-y-o male kitty, had 3 CBC panels and urinalysises in the past year. His last bloodwork on 4/6/17 wasn't promising.
LATEST LAB RESULTS:
Urine specific gravity=1.026 and that's considered low-normal. (1.015-1.060)
Creatinine is now 1.7 from 1.6 in December (.6-2.4mg/dL. )
BUN=25 (14-36)
SDMA 13 (0-14)
Phosphorus 4.6 (2.4-8.2)
Calcium 9.3 (8.2-10.8)
Precision PSL 39 (HIGH) (8-26)
SDMA is considered an accurate and early marker of kidney disease.
The current vet wants him on a kidney diet, but I don't want the low protein diet, plus I've decided to change vets. (She doesn't return phone calls and I have to play phone tag with the vet tech, who has been unable to answer any questions. I couldn't even get an answer or discussion of whether Pogo has early CKD)! In my layman's eyes, the phosphorus level doesn't seem especially high.
I know the new vet is opposed to raw but he's an Internal Medicine specialist and is highly regarded in the field. I feel I need to arm myself with information before I see the new vet in 2 weeks. There are holistic vets in the area but they all have very mixed reviews.
Questions:
P.S. Not sure it's relevant but Pogo had an acute pancreatic attack last April and has been dealing with elevated pancreatic enzymes ever since.

Questions:
- Is replacing bone with egg shells only good for up to Stage 3 CKD?
- How much/often can I replace egg whites for a portion of the raw meat? Is that for AFTER Stage 3 CKD?
- Is there anything I can do to make my cat concentrate his urine?
