My cat's allergic to something in my house, I don't know what so I'm doing a deep clean of everything including their toys. I would prefer to hand wash them since they most likely would not survive the washing machine.

What's safe to use besides hot water and soap that can kill germs? I'm a little iffy about using Dettol since it smells so much. The type of toys I'm most concerned about are stuffed animals.

Best way is steam clean or mix 50/50 water and white distilled vinegar and spray and hang dry in the sun or spin dry them in the clothes dryer.

I think they might survive the washer if you put them in a lingerie bag like this one. Use the very hottest water and unscented soap.

Good luck. I have an allergic cat and it can make you crazy!
