Back story, I took in a stray a few months ago who turned out to be pregnant. She had five kittens, and I still have one male who should be heading to a new home this weekend. Mom cat is currently in heat and I just saw her sixteen week old son mounting her. I don't think it was happening long and can't be that effective he's so small? Right? Do I actually need to be even vaguely concerned of her getting pregnant? How many times have I heard "It only takes one time". He's still nursing from her for god's sake. But I've seen some sites say some cats can hit puberty at four months (I don't think he's started spraying. He peed on my bed out of nowhere the other day, but it seemed to be just normal urine--not strong scented, not a vertical surface, tail not raised). I know I need to get mum spayed but I'm in Korea where it costs ~500$ and I won't have the financial means to afford that for another month or two.
Are there specific signs (the meowing from being in heat ending?) the are signs I can not worry at all. Or am I being actually insane by asking about this.
Please reassure me I can't handle another litter of kittens, dear god.
