I have a question. If kittens tested negative, is it likely the mom is also negative.
Kittens rarely develop full blown FIV from the mom in utero (although it can happen) and they often will test positive or light positive and will later re-test as negative even though the mom was positive, so depending on when the kitten got tested relative to his exposure to FIV and his ability to shake it off, it is possible a kitten could be negative and the mom positive, although if i was rolling the dice i would say that a fully negative kitten at 8-12 weeks probably has a negative mom, but if i was concerned i would test the mom.I have a question. If kittens tested negative, is it likely the mom is also negative.
