My one year old short hair cat has never had a hairball. Should I give her something like Laxatone Treats as a preventative, even though she has never had one?

Thanks.

Hi!
I'd say no. Instead, if you aren't already, begin a regularly scheduled grooming session, for example with a grooming mitt or a zoomgroom, and annual wellness checks :)

Yes, I agree with Furballsmom Furballsmom and FeebysOwner FeebysOwner , regular grooming is one way to reduce hairball and also daily sweeper vacuum the floor and clean the places where the cat sleeps. They do shed where they sleep or places hey like to be because as they groom and scratch, fur will drop off.
And if then floor or beds are not clean, they lay on it and as they groom, they lick up the fur into the system from their body.

My boy's a DSH and I groom him several times a day and each time around 5 minutes and I collect lots of fur on the short bristle brush that I use to groom him.
