~ The Jewish faith believe we come into the world naturally and should also leave this world naturally. Very simple. No embalming, no cremation. A simple wood "coffin" - not an elaborate casket with "beauty rest" mattress and pillow, etc.
I worked in a Jewish cemetery when I was a kid. We did mailings for the perpetual care. Yes, their burials are much simpler but I just don't grasp the whole "cemetery" thing at all. It was a very lovely, serene place but IMO burying a body makes as much sense as burying a car. Once you leave them, they can't do much. At least with the green burial, the land is being nurtured. How often do most people go visit cemeteries anyway?

@Norachan I don't understand the whole golf thing at all. ITA that golf courses are a waste of land too. How about leaving the land intact as a nature preserve so the wildlife native to the area can just live their lives there? Mini golf is fun though. You don't need nearly as much space for it.
