Becoming a first-time great-aunt (to a boy) in August was the highlight of the year. Seeing our youngest niece be married in May was another.
your highlights of 2018 were becoming a first time great-aunt, and seeing your youngest niece be married!!! that's great!! :D

Highlight is we are all alive.
2018 was not a good year. We lost a family member, my sil mother, on May 5th. On May 15 a bad storm caused multiple huge pine trees to fall that totaled my very first bmw (1999) damaged my husbands work truck and trailer and landed on and put holes in our roof. But we were safe no injuries. In August I lost my beloved Diddles cat suddenly and December 24 I lost my senior lady BoBo.
After proofreading this I now realize one good thing that happened. It is after 8 or so years we paid off our credit cards and debts that were in the 50,000 dollar range. So that’s good!

Debt free is awesome!!
micknsnicks2mom micknsnicks2mom we have a replacement tree that will be shipped in late April, and you're right, the surviving Enterprise apple tree needs a cross pollinator, so we are getting a Sundance (I think that's what it's called) this one is hardier than the one we lost, so I'm looking forward to it :)

It was mostly health issues for me, both good and bad.

Bad - I found out I have arthritis in my hands, feet and back. This means I have to wear a certain (expensive) brand of shoes in order for my feet not to hurt. Slippers on sale were $60.

I have it in my back which means I had to learn to "squat" instead of bending.

I had to learn how to carry things and do other tasks in a different way with my hands so as to slow down the progression as much as possible.

Good - I had cataract surgery on both eyes and now do not have to wear glasses after 60 years! Sometimes when I first wake up I still reach for my glasses

Also, I do a few craft shows in town for the past 3 or 4 years. This year I was invited to apply to a show that I had been turned down for last year. I went and sold 50% more than ever before.
you had both good and bad highlights in 2018!!! i'm so sorry you have arthritis in your hands, feet, and back. :alright:

those are really good, good things!! :yess:

For me:

- Being able to socialise Toffee and Fudge (this time last year they were still in a cage and more or less feral, a year later they've turned into lap cats and are both very affectionate)
- Passing my exams and getting accepted into my top university of choice
- Travels: to Provence, Paris and Iceland (seeing the Northern Lights!)
- Reconnecting and becoming closer to an old friend who is now one of my closest friends
those are really great highlights for 2018!!! awesome!! :D
