Hi everyone,
I have a cat that I adopted from a rescue facility a little over a year ago. She sneezes like crazy and breathes quite loudly at times. Otherwise she is a normal cat. She eats and plays normally. I took her to a vet and it came back as a pseudomonas infection. She received an injectable antibiotic and that seemed to work for about 3 months. Then symptoms came back so tried another vet where they also looked for polyps. None were found. They again tried every antibiotic available it seemed and none helped. Even tried Baytril in a nebulizer. Took her to another vet and she was tested again and once again it came back positive for pseudomonas. Tried antibiotic which should have worked but about 3 weeks after she went off of it symptoms once again returned. This vet even talked to a vet teaching hospital that basically said this is just the way she is going to be. She currently takes an antihistamine which does keep the sneezing down. I've read online about some people having success with colloidal silver or iodine. I was just wondering if anyone here has tried it for this type of infection? Did it cure it or just control symptoms? I currently have an appointment with a holistic vet on Tuesday but was just looking for any ideas on other things to try. I'm having trouble saying this is just the way she is going to be. I feel like there has got to be something I'm missing. It's hard to sit by and watch her cough, hack, and sneeze when she's the sweetest cat ever. Thanks for any help.
