Problems Between My Female Cat And My Male Kitten

I've got a 2 year old female cat, I recently got a male kitten of 4 months. The female doesn't want to enter our house and hits every he gets too close to her.
Can you please help me? Thanks.

Defensive swats directed at the kitten aren't a big deal, if that is what you mean. She will get used to the kitten in time. They may or may not ever be friends, but it should improve. However, it is more complicated if the kitten makes her want to spend all of her time outside. Can you keep her in or mostly keep her in a bit?
