I keep him in his own tank.1 gallon cleaned every 4-5 days.I had him in a 2.5 gallon tank but he freaked out.He looked and acted so scared. So I put him back in a 1 gallon tank and he was fine.

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

I love bettas! He's pretty. I'm impressed that he's 2 years old. I had my last Betta fish for about a year. I've had my current Betta, Bubbles, for almost 9 months. He moved with us half-way across the country in a little tiny travel tank by my feet in the car. When I bought Bubbles at Petco, the salesperson told me that she's had her Betta for something like 6 years, isn't that crazy? I hope Bubbles does that well! I found a lot of great info on taking care of Bettas over on http://www.bettatalk.com/.

If he's not eating his regular food, try freeze-dried bloodworms. Bettas love those!

He needs a fungicide to kill the fungus and heal his tail and fins. Water changes alone will not take care of it.

I can never get a decent pic of mine. He's a crown tail too but his color is so amazing... it changes depending on the angle your looking at him from.

I hope you can work out what's wrong with his fins.

He's pretty! Too bad about the tail, I hope it gets better.

As you are treating the fin rot, do remember to raise the temperature of his water with a heater, gradually if you're not already using a heater... Don't boil him though!
