Since spring 2012, we have had a male cardinal who insists on beating up his reflection in our windows.  His favorite window is in the dining room, just on the other side of the cat's favorite tree.  The cats think this is the greatest toy I've ever bought them!

Here he is with Josie, who usually just stares at him:

And with Halsey, who more actively "plays" with him:

You can just barely see the bird's head above Halsey's shoulder.  The cardinal is usually at the window between three and fours hours a day.  He's attacked almost all our windows at one time or another.

BTW - we have decals on almost all the windows that include a realistic cat, a hawk and spider webs.  We hung wind socks at two windows but he'll land on them and sit while the socks blow gently in the breeze.  I swear he thinks they're an amusement ride just for him!  Every once in awhile, his wife will join him in the crepe myrtle.  She won't attack the window but watches her husband as he valiantly protects her.
