Peeing on Couch?

It just happened today. She normally does this as a way to complain or when shes upset but… everything was normal. Woke up, she has food and water and I gave her attention. She suddenly kept running up and down the stairs — her litterbox is down there. I was like, “thats weird” so I thought she was just playing. Then she jumped int he couch and started to pee?! I went to check her litterbox and it was still clean (I already cleaned it a few days ago). I dod switch the type of litter we used but she’s been using the litterbox just fine until today? Shes still going up and down the stairs and trying to pee on the couch..

any ideas on her weird behavior? Is she maybe constipated?

Sounds like a urinary tract infection to me. I would get her in to the vet as soon as possible.

Usually litter box habit changes indicate health issues. As susanm9006 mentioned it sounds like she might have a UTI.

That's good. Just to keep in mind it might take her some time to use the litter box.. some cats even after feeling better have a litterbox avoidance issue because they associate the box with the pain they were feeling. If this does happen try to get her a different litterbox might have to change litter as well. Not saying this will happen just that it is a possibility.

I'm glad she got seen by the vet and now she can start feeling better.
