I always thought that orange tabby cats were usually male. The photo is very cute.
A girl AWWWW...Have you thought of any names??Originally Posted by emily_325
Today's the day we're going to look. We are leaving in an hour so that we get there a little early.
We REALLY want a little girl, and there's only one little girl I think in this litter. Makes sense since orange tabbies are usually 90% male.
Brian still says, "no promises", but I swear I heard him whispering to Anya last night that we were going to bring her home a little sister.
Keep your fingers crossed!
I don't know about everyone else, but I've been waiting a whole four hours for an update!Originally Posted by babyharley

I'm just getting into your thread and was dying laughing when I read your IMs. I knew that SUCKER was written all over his forehead. I had to flip through to the last page because I knew you'd end up with one!Originally Posted by Trouts mom

Awww, they sound precious! And if they have markings like my boys, well, of course they must be adorable!Originally Posted by emily_325
Sorry it wook me a while to get back to you. The foster organization that has these kittens are serious about giving them out to good homes only. Turns out THREE of the five kittens are little girls. We met one today. She's a little timid and a big snuggler. The other two were at home with sneezes.
We filled out an application for them to review, did an interview, and they are going to get back to us. If we are chosen as adoptive parents to one of them they deliver the kitten to your home so that they can check out the environment the kitten will live in. They seemed to really like us though.
They were the cutest kittens ever in person. Their little toes are PRECIOUS! Rather than the extra toes sticking out the side like a mitten, they line up beside the other toes so that their paws just look EXTRA WIDE. It has to be the sweetest thing I've ever seen. Like when you see a puppy with gigantic feet that you know one day they'll grow into. Also their coloring looks like a marbled tabby, where the color is more swirled rather than striped. Kind of like Kenz's Harley and Davidson.
They said they would call us with the director's opinion/decision on our application. The woman who is fostering them gets a say too though and we met her today and hit it off. Cross your fingers that they pick us!!!
With most rescues, they'll be altered prior to admission. A really good rescue would never let a cat or kitten leave unaltered, under any circumstance. I also applaud them for adopting out kittens in pairs. 90% of cats just simply will develop better with a buddy, especially, I think, a sibling or somekitty they bonded to at a young age. I'm really glad to see we're not the only ones who insist on this.Originally Posted by silentNate
I'm very impressed that they are going to these lengths to ensure that the kittens are going to happy homes, wishing you good luck in getting one as they sound absolutely gorgeous
Are they insisting that the cat is spayed?
