After having to leave Frankie at the vets all day as there wasn't enough in her bladder for them to do a cystocentesis this morning (and we didn't want to do sub-q to fill her as this would skew the urine specific gravity- a value we wanted to check since she has early kidney failure.) we just got her back home about an hour ago.
My poor girl cryed all the way there, hated not sleeping with us last night, and I told my vet I was sure she thought we were leaving her/giving her away...she really was upset. So was I
Without the results back yet from her urinalysis, my vet prescribed amoxicillin...urine was cloudy, very concentrated (specific gravity was high - better news though then hearing it was too dilute..an issue with crf kitties), and bit bloody - though that may be secondary to the cystocentesis.
So.she's home - and she smiled when they brought her in to the exam room. I swear she did
Hopefully, no more peeing on us at night and we are adding a second litter box in our bedroom, and elevating all water bowls she has access to (she drinks a lot, but most when she drinks out of an elevated bowl).
