My queen is expecting her 3rd and final litter.
She is very close to welping, however she is expressing a behavior she has not done before.
Two of her offspring from her previous litter are still here, they are a year old.
She cries for them until they come to her and when they do she grabs them by the scruff and tries to drag them to her best box.
They of course cry and struggle and break away from her then run away.
She never did this with her her second litter (her offspring from her 1st was still with us and was almost a year old but has since gone to it's new home).
I have never come across this behaviour in a pregnant queen before and I can not find anything on it when looking online.
She is defiantly pregnant and is not experiencing a phantom, I have seen and felt the kittens moving and she has been examined by a vet who confirmed pregnancy.
She is 4 years old, she has had a space of around a year between each litter. (Her first were welped a week after her 2nd birthday).
She is a domestic shorthair (moggie).
Does anyone have any ideas why she tries to get her older offspring into her nest box with her?
