View media item 411286 Two brothers. We got them at 6 weeks, they are almost a year now. The mom is jet black and shorthair but the dad is an unknown stray. She had another litter that most of the kittens looked like these guys. View media item 411287 They have beautiful eyes that are like a golden brownish hazel color. Very playful and confident personalities. Can't figure out what they are since we don't know who the dad is.

Hello LittleHoodie, welcome to TCS :wavey:

They looked like Domestic Shorthair Spotted Tabbies with white.

They are very handsome.

Great that you found this site and do browse around and feel free to ask questions if you have any.

If the other litter looked almost the same, its almost sure it was the same dad to both litters.  As they apparently didnt inheritadet their looks from momma.

Both tabby and white are dominant.  As  momma is black, so here you see a mirror of the daddy.   To reuse an old joke "When shaving (or doing make up if you are female) you dont need no portrait of the daddy, its enough you have a good photo of them here".

Ok, the question  is, are they spotted tabby or broken mackerel tabby?  The looks may be almost the same, but its two different genes, so it may be interesting to know, and for a breeder, its important to know.

Righty looks as he had real spots.   Lefty  looks as he had broken mackerel...  So I really dont know, and guess its really broken mackerel genetically on both cats.  Its of course possible daddy had both genes, and they got one each.

Perhaps more good photos would help?   As now there is only one decently good photo, where they huddle together.  The other photos are too dard to see much.  At least, not on this computer Im sitting at this moment.

I've had many kittens who are more spotted like yours when they were young, but as they got older the spots turned into stripes. Kinda like the 'spots' on cougar kits when they are young, They fade out as they get older. Welcome to the site, your cats are gorgeous!

Yea, with the latest photos, now it does seem that the could be Mackerel or Broken Mackerel Stripes Tabby as mentioned.

Lovely!
