I have posted before about my girl Duchess, we adopted her and her brother almost 3 months ago and while I know my little boy Thomas is a DSH who is a chatter box and I think he’s more bird than cat! She confuses me because I thought she was short hair but over night she’s puffed out! Am I just crazy!? Is she a short hair?

Her coat: very very soft, slick but puffy. I wouldn’t say she is a long hair but I’m not sold that she is short hair like her brother. She has super long back leg hair and her tail is very poofy

Personality: HUGE hunter and stalker. Very smart but a little dopey because she thinks the litter box is a fun thing to play in haha

She just started growing some neck hairs a lmost like a tiny main under her chin the other day but she is also getting heavier so could just be her gaining weight. I put a picture of a brother for comparison

Yep, that's a floofy tail! We tend to call it medium-haired, though genetically she is longhaired. Medium-hairs tend to have less coat in the summer, and more in the winter, and the fur on their body can look almost shorthaired in the summer.

Yay!!
So do you think she will get fluffier or maybe just the tail will be fluffy? She will be 5 months tomorrow, is her coat fully grown?

No, she won't get her adult coat for quite some time. Probably around a year old, sometimes later.

She'll probably be very floofy all over in the winter, and sleek bodied with a floofy tail (and maybe a mane) in the summer.
