Have no suggestion beyond saying you are a true saint & a hero & Sphinx is a cutie & please do keep us posted. Do you have pet insurance of any sort? I feel certain that the more you reach out to veterinarians everywhere, the more you are bound to find the “right” one, both for expertise & genrousity. I wonder if a Go Fund Me page might help, for any eventual operation. Plus what vet wouldn’t want to fly to such a lovely place!

See if your vet can email or call the Diagnostic Imaging department here for more suggestions on treatment: Referral Services
I will try and pass this onto her, otherwise I may contact them myself. Thank you.

Thank you, it means a lot. Yes, I am currently doing that, and no, I don't have pet insurance, wasn't even aware that I could ensure my pet.

That is the goal :) contacted my brother who studies in the UK to set up a GoFundMe page as it is currently not supported in my country. I will share the link when it is live.

That place will only consult with vets unfortunately. You can call and try to get some info but most likely they will need to speak with your vet to further discuss.

Apologies for disappearing.

Just picked up sphinx from the vet two days ago. She spent about 2 weeks getting unblocked. By the first week, she was unblocked, and during the second week, the vet was experimenting with different food brands to see which one worked best as in getting her to pass each day without fail.

Weirdly enough she found out that a pellet type of food called Proline with a little bit of water produces amazing results, which I still can't understand how, but it truly does. She has been passing every day, even multiple times. She is a lot better, stronger and most of all happier.

This has made me re-think the surgical intervention for her spine. I have contacted at least 20 vets overseas with less than 5 replies. They all tell me the same thing, but just to quote one of them "Surgery on such a case is rarely performed, as it would involve adjusting the whole spinal column, which is a massive undertaking and has many risks". They also mention that if the medical approach is not working (which is showing some promise now), then the surgical route may be the only option.

I am in touch with an organization called WorldWide Vets which is helping me get in contact with a few specialists to get a better understanding of the situation and my options.

Here is a link to a folder that contains some pictures and videos of Sphinx. Ps. it was used to give more context to the vets but still contains some heartwarming content. Ps. The Sphinx and Mum video was taken today.

I will keep you posted on any updates :) Thank you all.

What an adorable little face! You deserve such a huge amount of credit for having tried so hard and having found what is hopefully a solution for your baby. I completely agree that spinal surgery is a last resort and I am glad that the vets you contacted were up front about that. If Proline seems to correct this, or keep it corrected enough for comfort, I would stick with it for as long as it is working. Please do keep us updated.
