Mercy weighed in at 4 lb 13 oz as of 1/12/16 . She was 2 lb 9 oz according to the vet on 12/08/15 . Taking her to the vet was like an episode of Curious George. So that's about 2 1/4 lbs gained. She got her rabies and that is it for her baby shots. We'll get her fecal tomorrow.
Mook got a checkup and a full wellness. She was 10lbs 10oz in April and is the exact same weight now. She got a blood test, fecal, urine and heartworm check and we'll get all that tomorrow. Poor girl hid behind her daddy every chance she got. But behaved like a champ during the blood and urine pulls. We discussed her grieving process and all of us are pretty sure that she's coping well.
I can't tell you how much I wanted to skip doing the tests on Mook. We have just been through so much crap but hiding doesn't solve a problem if there happens to be one. We paid for Mercy's rabies since I asked for the Purevax. Like I had to ask since per my interrogation they only use cat friendly vaccines. I know we're paying more to go to the VCA but it feels safe to us right now. And I love the vet we have there. We feel safe there.
Here is poor Mook hiding in daddy's coat. He's now wearing a hair coat. Poor girl she was not a happy camper. She's in her favorite sunny window washing the dirt of the day off her body.
The only still picture of Mercy for the whole visit. We came home with a load of cat treats and new toys. I really wanted to take more pictures. Mostly for our own albums but it just got hectic in there to be waving my phone around trying to capture the visit. Mercy made a point of walking on everything and played shamelessly while Mook was being tortured.
She is now passed out on her favorite perch.
I got to Long Leash on Life and got a load of Tiki Cat and Weruva canned and a bag of Stella and Chewy freeze dried to try.
Oh and I only sobbed once in the vet office while talking about Mook's grieving process. It's still hard walking in those doors. Today we left in a positive mood though.
