Hey everyone! It's so nice to have the time and peace of mind to post a happy introduction post on here--in the five weeks I have had Jasper he has had a severe URI and giardia, and has been on four rounds of antibiotics, two deworming treatments, subcutaneous injections, and a period of force feeding. Luckily, he seems to be almost entirely healed, and it is such a joy to see him relaxed, happy, and playful--just like a kitten should be!
I adopted him from a local rescue that found him on his own in the middle of the road in a nearby city, and despite his rough start both before I adopted him and after, he is the friendliest, cuddliest cat I have ever known. Although he plays hard, if he is resting he is always on my lap or on my chest purring, and sleeps on the other half of my pillow every night. He's definitely a very smart kitty too, he fetches toys if I throw them and immediately brings them back to me for me to throw again. He has one little stuffed toy (a Kong Kickeroo shaped like a bear) that he carries in his mouth with him everywhere and brings into bed to sleep with him at night.
The rescue thinks he's a Maine Coon mix. I know very little about cat breeds, but he does have the ear tufts, ruff, the black smoke shaggy fur (it is gray at the base), long fur on the bottom of his paws, and a very rectangular body that I've read are characteristic of Maine Coons. Regardless, in my totally unbiased opinion I think he is darn cute!
