I remember when everyone was reading this book. Somehow, I missed out.

If I can ever find my kindle, it is on there—- when I moved, 3 years ago, I remember packing it. I think I found it about a year ago, charged it— now, I cannot find it!

It's a book I never finished. I read "A Thousand Splendid Suns" which I did finish but enough was enough.
I hope you all enjoy it - and I hope to be able to join you again in April. :)

(I'm still struggling with "The Invisible Miss ??.... " but I think I prefer "Great Expectations", which I'm reading for the n-th time, where n>3).

Bet Geoffrey knows where it is. :winkcat:
And, of course, if you do find it, we'd love to have you join us.

We'll miss you in March, and hope to see you in April.

It must be quite the struggle if you can't remember her name.
I'm about to start it, btw, so hopefully I'll have an easier time with Miss Addie and her invisibility.
If anyone reading this is confused, we're referring to our February 2022 book of the month club - The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue

This is a book I've been wanting to read, and my library has it! I've heard it's a tearjerker.
Glad you'll be able to join us, Lola3791 Lola3791 . :grouphug2:
Tearjerker, eh. Guess I'd better have tissues handy.

I read it years ago but looking forward to reading it again.
Somehow, despite it being a best seller, I'd not heard of it before we started discussing it as a possible book club choice.
And despite it being a tearjerker, I'm also looking forward to reading it.

I read The Kite Runner in the past, a very affecting story. Very good.
I couldn't get through A Thousand Splendid Suns, it was too much but I did take to heart as far as I got and what people go through.

I'll bow out of March because I have too many I need to read to repeat one right now. But it's a great book and I loved it.

I read it years ago, a strong story and as I cant remember a lot of the detail I will read it again. Even if you dont read it again you can always review it. I agree with you that A Thousand Splendid Suns was a harder read, I couldn't work out the connection to the two woman for long to time.

I've had the e-book on hold at my library for a while, and I'm still #5 on 2 copies, with a 5 week wait. Hopefully it goes quicker than that, since March is only a bit over a week away.

The people ahead of me waiting to borrow The Kite Runner must have passed on the loan, because my chance came up yesterday. So I borrowed it today, and since I have it for 3 weeks, will finish the book I'm currently reading, before starting it.

Happy March everyone. Time to start thinking about reading The Kite Runner.

I see a couple of you have bowed out of reading this month, as you've read the book before. That's understandable, as there's only so much time, and so many books. But do know you're still welcome to join the discussion later in the month, if you'd like. And if not, hope to see you in April.

Whilst there are a few sad parts to this story as in most, its a lovely tale of an unexpected friendship.
You're right, that most books tend to have sad parts, as even Addie, our February book, had me sobbing at one point.

It sounds very interesting, but I can't afford $14 even for the Kindle version.
Are you able to borrow e-books from your library?

I did set it up, but every book I wanted was a long wait so I haven't pursued it. Maybe I should look into it again, thanks for the reminder.

Since it's an older book, it might be available. Good luck. :crossfingers:
