I care fir feral cats that are on my property. One of them is femal long haired .. Tnrd. A beautiful cat but very skittish. She has an injured or sore back leg and her coat is matted
I can't catch her and even if I could
,she would not like to be groomed
Anyone have any suggestion for a home remedy to help tge back leg heal? And whT would you do about hera tyed coat?

Just keep her well-fed so she doesn't have to move much to hunt for food. Does she have a visible sore/wound? Or does it seem just sprained, etc? If she has a wound you could ask a vet for an over-the-counter antibiotic and put it in a small amount of tuna juice or lickable treat every day at feeding time. Explain to them that she is feral and TNR'd and is impossible to bring in. The only way to get rid of the mats is to shave her and that would involve sedating or trapping her. Long-haired cats that I have taken care of develop huge mats until they peel off in huge areas. I feel sorry for her, I pray she will get better soon!
