Litter all over their faces!

My cats are slobs! I use Feline Pine, which slowly turns into saw dust. Occaisonally, when the litter is mostly saw dust, the cats will come out with litter all over their faces after using the box. I can't think of how they manage to cover their faces in litter other than to actually stick their faces in the litter. Does anyone elses cat do this, or are mine just weird?

Reilly will sometimes come out of the box with litter on his face..it's because he smells his umm...business before he covers it

My kitten Diesel always comes out with his face covered in kitty litter dust!! I can always tell when he has just been to the toilet!!
