Are there any tv series (Netflix, PBS, what have you) or movies you love that you think deserve a broader audience?

TV shows:

Pushing Daisies
Corner Gas
Psych (maybe this one isn't really lesser-known or underappreciated)

OK, that's all I can think of, lol. I'm sure I'll think of more later.

I agree with Pushing Daisies. Bryan Fuller (the creator) also made another awesome, but short-lived, show called Dead Like Me. Mandy Patinkin's character in that show is one of my favorite characters of all of the shows I've watched.

Other shows:
The Good Place
Atypical
Insatiable
GLOW
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Super Store
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Broad City
One Day at a Time (the new one on Netflix)
Mindhunter

I know it looks like I am a giant couch potato, but I am home all the time and cannot be without noise to busy my mind while I do other things. (I read a lot in addition to doing other things. I need noise then, too.)

I watch/listen to a lot of the same stuff over and over. It is not an issue, really, but I like to have options. :)

Muriel's Wedding is one of my favorite movies.
You're terrible, Muriel!

My favorite part is when Rhonda tells the other girls she is with Muriel. I read something last year that the actresses are still close friends. Toni Collete is brilliant in "The United States of Tara."

A ton of PBS shows:
Poldark
Call of the Midwives
Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries
Elizabeth
Oldies:
Father Brown Mysteries
Grantchester
so many more, which I forgot.. I love period pieces. I feel as if I just get engulfed in the storylines.

I have a tendency to gravitate towards the British Stuff... even Australian. I love the fact there are no commercials. They also seem to be much better, written than the American programs. The characterizations are incredible; also, the photography is insane.

I tend to agree with you on that one! Have you watched "The Detectorists"?

And, I love every series you listed! Haha! "Grantchester" is about to have a massive change after Norton leaves.

If we ever get another female cat, Phryne is on the shortlist of names. I think Essie Davis is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen.

(this show is basically my religion, if I had a religion)
Keeping Up Appearances

I could come up with a list a million miles long..

I've only gotten to see it on you tube, but Begin Japanology is something we've been watching very often for a long time, as we both like the Japanese culture.
(I only hope the show isn't full of crap.)

Samurai Champloo
My son and his fiancee are huge fans of Samurai Champloo. They also like Cowboy BeBop.

My son follows modern Bushido, trains in Japanese martial arts along with his fiancee, collects katanas and other weapons, and wears traditional Japanese clothes often.

There is a series called Samurai Cat that we all enjoy. It is about a recluse samurai who was ordered to kill a specific cat. Instead of killing the cat, he ends up loving the cat and keeping it.

This is my son with our Silas.
