Help! My nieces saw this kitten fell from our neighbor's rooftop. I don't know how she (kitten) got there (rooftop). But she has an open wound on her belly, a little on her neck, and her right ear is bleeding.

I already cleaned her wounds with Hydrogen Peroxide with water. I can't take her to the vet. It's far and I really don't have any money to pay the vet.

She's sleeping now. I just want to know what else can I do for her? For her wounds. We don't have any milk for cats and the mall is also far and again.

I'm from the Philippines and we don't have any public clinic for animals here in our town.

    I'm sorry and thank you!

You don't know what damage the fall has done. The poor thing could be in pain. PLEASE try to find someone who can take it to the vet or phone the vet, explain and ask for help.

It is good of you to try to help and I wish I could do something. Do you have a friend or neighbour who has cats that are in a position to help. How is the kitten now.

Still sleeping... She's moving sometimes. And the bleeding already stopped. I'm giving her drops of water from time to time.

No, sorry... They're telling me that I can't save this kitten. I wish I know someone that can help her. If only I have a job and the money I will bring her to the vet. I'm so sorry.

Hopefully PAWS will reply and be able to help.

It's good the bleeding stopped. Do you have any food to offer her? Some unseasoned meat you can boil perhaps?

You can make an electrolyte solution to help keep her hydrated until you can find someone to help you.
1 quart clean water (no chlorine or fluoride)
    1 tablespoon sugar or honey
    1 teaspoon common table salt

She'll need quite a bit of liquids, more than a few drops.

Thank you for trying to save her. :hugs:

I hope so too. Thank you for helping.

I don't think she will be able to eat for now. She doesn't even wants some water.

But I will make an electrolyte solution now.

Thank you! Thank you so much!

She may not be able to eat for a few hours, but I would have something prepared for her.

Have you looked in her ear that was bleeding to make sure the bleeding there has stopped?

Drop as much water or electrolyte solution on the side of her mouth as she will swallow. Try to keep her head upright when you give her water (not on her back) so the water doesn't go in her lungs.

Sorry but... We don't have any uncooked meat right now but I'll buy tomorrow.

Yes, I checked it earlier. I think she's shivering.

I will give her water again later. She's sleeping now.

Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

Can you put some dry rice or beans in a sock and warm it in the microwave or oven, and put it under a blanket to keep her warm? (Obviously not scorching hot.)

She most likely went into shock right after the fall, so she would not have felt any pain for several hours. If she is shivering, her body may be coming out of shock and she is starting to feel pain. She's also likely running a fever. Are her ears hot or cold?

For additional warmth, can you put her on a blanket inside a small cardboard box, large enough that you can still easily monitor and get water in her? The box would help trap some of her body heat inside.

Meanwhile, send out another plea on PAWS twitter or facebook. Ask for someone/anyone who has the money to take her for veterinary care to come pick her up. She probably needs pain killer and antibiotics at a minimum.

Her ears are warm. I put her on a blanket. She's so weak. I'm really sorry. It's 12:35 here, but yeah, I'll send another message to PAWS.

She's shivering every time I drop a water inside of her mouth...

Please don't be sorry. You are doing everything you possibly can. PAWS...PART...CARA..are all on Facebook. Could you contact them. Even if they are not in your area, they may have contacts. It's early morning with you so I don't suppose you are likely to get an answer soon. Good luck..

@ohohtinyang How's the kitten doing now? Looks like the fall was quite nasty.

are there any animal shelters near by to call? I don't know what's in your area.

Best thing you can do is keep her warm, keep the wounds clean as possible and try to get her to drink and eat. Baby food will work in a pinch if you can get to a supermarket.

You can call the vet and ask them about using natural remedies or go online and ask a holistic vet. I read somewhere about sambong being from the Phillipines and it is used for internal bleeding such as kidney bleeding, but that was for people and cats can safely use only some of the herbs that are good for people. You could ask a farmer or maybe the Ministry of Agriculture for suggestions, if the cat rescue groups cannot help. Also ask the vet about using coconut oil and Vitamin E for her cuts. Ask them about what you can give her internally - do NOT give her aspirin, acetominaphen (tylenol), ibuprofen (advil, motrin) or naproxen (aleve) because they are toxic to cats and can cause internal bleeding.
Prayers and blessing for the little kitty for healing, and for your niece and you for rescuing one of God's creatures:vibes::vibes::vibes:.....Susan

When you give her water, maybe you can warm it to just body temperature (not hot, just tepid-warm).

If you have some eggs, you can drip some egg yolk mixed with warm water in her mouth. Don't use the egg whites; they aren't good for cats but the yolks are easy to digest and have a lot of good vitamins.
