He looks pretty young so it's hard to tell. By 1 year he should have his ruff and still not be grown if he is indeed a Maine Coon. Those cats are huge, full grown boys can weigh 20 - 25 lbs without being fat and not reach their full size until they are 2.

Here's mine before he went to the rainbow bridge.    just click on the box and it should send you to a box at the bottom of the screen where you click it again and a full screen pic of Rumpus should show up. He is sitting on the klitchen counter where he had no business being.

He surely looks like a Mco look alike.   If he is?  Probably not.  Breed is not looks, but ancestry.

Of course, MCO being a natural breed purebred from a natural population of cats in North East  Usa (and perhaps Canada too?), theere are a lot of cousins out there in that natural population they did once come from.

Here he is more Coon alike than in the first photo.
