Tony is currently 5.5 to 6 months old and weighs between 6.5 and 7 lbs.
He typically eats twice a day, around 7am and 7 pm.
I have no idea what they were feeding him at the shelter, but I started out giving him dry food with a spoonful of wet, because that's all he'd eat of the wet food.
I tried a new wet food, hoping he'd like it more and now he's up to about 1/3 can of Merrick canned food, with 1/4 cup of Now! Grain Free Kitten food at each mealtime.
He usually doesn't finish the wet food even if I leave it out for a half hour. but will eat the dry food when I put it out, so i,m guessing he's still hungry.
Anyway, I'm not sure if I should just be feeding him as much dry food as he'll eat or only a set amount, because he seems to prefer it to any wet foods (ive also tried friskies and fancy feast).
Should I concentrate on transitioning to 100% wet food when he's older?
BTW, his bowel movements are fine. He seems to go sort of frequently - maybe twice a day for stool and more than that for urinations.
your help is appreciated!
