When I was a kid we had a small farm and someone who rented a building had 'tamed' one of the ferals that hung around. He was named Harvey then produced kittens but by then the name had stuck!

I like Allie too. It's close enough that she won't get confused and you shouldn't either.

LOL I can't believe Carmelo was Carmella! You'd think with a cat that big it's be pretty clear but it just goes to show it's a mistake anyone can make. I think ALL of my kitties went through this!

First it was Sarah... who our vet informed us was actually a Sam
Then I got Frankie before I knew that almost all calico's were girls... she was named after Frank Sinatra so we kept it at Frankie.

Then there was Wickett who we all thought was a girl but it only lasted about a week and I don't remember his original (girl) name.
