I bought ordered some more books from Barnes and Noble yesterday. You know, the whole helping to stimulate the economy thing.
Lincoln at Cooper Union: The Speech That Made Abraham Lincoln President by Harold Holtzer
With Malice Towards None: The Life of Abraham Lincoln by Stephen B. Oates
1453: The Holy War for Constantinople and the Clash of Islam and the West by Roger Crowley. Fantastic book, I've read it once before but didn't own it.
The Rise of the Roman Empire by Polybius (translated by Ian Scott-Kilvert).
Roman Warfare by Adrian Goldsworthy and John Keegan. Goldsworthy has yet to write and bad book.
Babylonian Life and History by E. A. Wallis Budge.
Has anyone read any of these?
I'm also looking for a good book on Martin Luther. We were discussing the Reformation in my history class and this guy intrigues me for the stand he took.
I also bought Season 1 of "The Universe" (I already own season 2).
