My current girl is a rescue (thrown out of a car when she was about 3 yrs. old), and she's the only cat of mine who 'hid' when she arrived--for two weeks. The people on this board were enormously helpful in getting me through that time. It was 'treats' that eventually won her over, and she's become a total love bug.
She's been with me for 5 years now, and although she's only gained about a pound, she's 13.5 lbs, and my vet suggests she should be a little less. She actually doesn't eat that much--I'm at fault. Because of her 'tragic past,' I tend to feed too many treats, and now she's come to expect them. I feel heartless if I ignore her.
Any advice for me in cutting back on the treats? It's mainly Greenies Indoor Cat.
