From the time a cat ingest something he shouldn't, how long until it becomes a problem? 2 days? 3 days? I'm trying to get a better understanding of a timeline

Is this in regards to the wooden plant decor, and the hairballs? This is a very difficult question to answer because it depends upon what has been eaten, and what the consequences may be once it is in the cats digestive system. If you suspect that something is currently going awry, waiting until you see physical signs of the problem is not the best course of action. If the sign that you were to see was rectal bleeding, for example, that would already have become serious by the time that you were to see the blood.

Hi. I agree with the above, but also want to point out that not all non-edible items that are ingested make their way to the intestines, they can cause a blockage/partial blockage anywhere once swallowed. If the item is sharp, it can also perforate anywhere along the tract as well. So, depending on what the item was, its size, etc. it could take hours or days or anything in between to pose a problem.
