hello everyone ,
I am new to this site and I hope you guys could help me with my problem.
I adopted my baby simba since he was one month old he is one year and six month now, i know he is a Turkish angora but i am not sure if he is mixed or not. Anyways he was a healthy cat and always a picky eater. Since may he fell sick and I rushed to the vet and he told me that his ALT were high, and he is now on medication since. I had done the blood test and the biochemistry for 3/4 times now and they all show an increase in his ALT levels.
although he looks normal, healthy and jumps around like any active cat but his ALT are 800 according to his last blood test. The doctor cant seem to understand why. He eliminated the trauma, the poisoning and he suspect in hepatitis but the problem is that all his levels are normal except ALT and I have seen an x-ray to his lever and it was inflamed.
I was struggling with his fussy way of eating but now due to the high ALT the doctor said to keep him of a specific diet which is only his meds which are Liv.52 tablets once a day and 2ml of HEPATOVET, along side salmon oil. He also said no more generic food which my cat adores and he must have his hepatic royal canin dry food which he eats only when he is super hungry and also obesity control wet food royal canin that has low starch and high protein which again he eats like half a sachet daily.
I guess after the long description I wish you guys could help me in understanding the reasons behind his high ALT levels and if i need to seek another medical opinion!
I also need to learn about some food that i can prepare for him at home to help him eating because it breaks my heart seeing him eat less than he normally have or deprive him of his favorite food. I need any help possible. View media item 373187
