Hey everyone,
My cat Bridgerton (about 2 yrs old) first had high ALT levels (320) in September. We retested him in October and it went up to 410. We did an ultrasound, bile duct test, amoxi drops and metronidazole, and everything came back normal and his levels are unchanged after the medication. The vet said he could refer me to an internal specialist who would most likely suggest a biopsy, or we could just "do nothing" and see if he develops any symptoms. My boy seems happy and healthy, but I'm nervous about either option. For now I'm opting to re test him in a few months to see if his levels keep climbing, but I'm really anxious about what's the best course of action for my cat. From speaking with the vet it seems like because Bridgerton is young and has no clinical symptoms we may be okay with just waiting and watching him, but that makes me just as nervous as the thought of a biopsy.
Has anyone else been in a similar position?
