My Mom adopted two cats from my local HS and they gave her 6 15lb bags of the food that the company had donated. Aparrantly RC donated over 2,000lbs to the shelter at one point!
Anyhow, I'm 29 and live in Missouri. I'm pretty much a dog person, but I do also have a few cats.
My dogs are:
Henry (Italian Greyhound)
Taz (Chihuahua)
Cujo (Papillon)
All of my dogs are fixed, and none came to me as puppies. A friend of mine got married, and her husbands dog killed one of her three IGs. He also attacked one of them severely and in the end she asked me to take them in. I was able to neuter and place Spike in a home, but Henry stayed with me. He's not the most trusting animal in the world, and is somewhat scared of loud sounds or quick motions.
Taz came from a co-worker. His tennant hadn't paid rent, so when he went to talk to the people it was discovered they left the home abandoned, with the Chihuahua inside. Taz has only been with me for a week. He's very scared and nervous, and extremely prone to biting.
Cujo came to me trough my vet - his owner had died and no family members were interested in taking in the diabetic dog. My vet thought of me and gave me a call. This happened two years ago, and the rest is history.
My cats are:
Sammy (DSH)
Millie (Persian) - foster
Blueberry (Persian) - foster
Sammy was hanging around the house I bought just over 4 years ago. I had him fixed, and just never got around to finding him a different home.
Millie and Blueberry are Persian cats that a neighbor gave up after she was forced to move. Both are sweet, but Blueberry is pretty sick right now, and I'm not sure how things will go with her. When I took them both in, they seemed healthy, but Blueberry stopped eating and did lose weight - enough so that the vet and I are working on figuring out whats going on with her. She went into the vet today and will be staying there until Wednesday.
