I adopted this beautiful Siamese Mix on June 29th, 2016 and he has been a treasure to love, care for, and live with. There was not adjustment period. He came out of the carrier, and made my home his. He is affectionate, and playful after he recovered from a serous viral infection that they did not know he had when I adopted him.
I cannot believe how much I enjoy having him around. He sleeps with me on my pillow, he follows me around, he tries to be close to me wherever I am. He has become so vocal now. I know when he is hungry or wants to play. Totally different sounds. When I come home from work, he runs to the door and practically crushes into me. He throws himself on my things as I take them off in my bedroom, and rubs his entire body on my handbag and backpack. Then he claws his scratching posts frantically and jumps on the bed ready to play.
I work at night, so coming home at midnight or after, and playing with him at 1:00AM in the morning, was something to get used to. But when I am ready for bed, he quiets down, and sleeps on my pillow on top of my head and just cuddles into me. He does not leave the bedroom unless I do.
He lays on my computer desk as I work at the computer, so I had to put a rug on the desk which is in my avatar so he can lay out and relax. He has cat boxes and cat tunnels, and a nice water fountain which he drinks out of.
He does not like to play too much with toys, but will run through his tunnels and boxes with his ears back and then looks to attack me as he jumps out of the tunnel to grab my legs. I laugh - so precious.
I am so happy for this forum. There are so many little things I want to learn, but I am luck to have a wonderful vet 3 blocks from me if I need her assistance. I take better care of him, than of myself.
Love to all
