help - interstitial cystitis (FLUTD)

Hello,

My cat has been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis. She has had it for several years. She has been on elevil and interferon. She has also tried homeopathic remedies and nothing seems to work for her. I cannot bear to watch her continue to be so uncomfortable. Could someone please help me/her?

Could you give some more background? Have they done x rays or an ultrasound to check for cysts or crystals? What antibiotics or diets have they tried. My understanding of the interferon is that it is supposed to boost the immune system. However given in low doses orally can take up to a few years to kick in. The Elevil I would imagine they are just giving to help with some of the pain.

My cat has it, and it creates a problem because she likes the dry food that is not good for her. She should be on Hills CS prscription diet "S". All your cat needs is some antibiotic, such as Amoxicillin. Give 2 cc's twice a day for about 3-5 days and she should get better. RUTH
