There is an urgent issue that requires all hands on deck. In China, where there are no animal cruelty laws, Feline Guardians Without Borders uncovered a large cat torture network showcasing 100s of gruesome and distressing videos depicting unspeakable acts of cruelty towards cats and kittens. New torture content is uploaded daily, perpetuating a cycle of suffering that must be stopped.
Feline Guardians is running a multifaceted campaign with the ultimate goal of pressuring China to pass animal cruelty legislation and punish abusers involved in torturing cats. Its global community of supporters have been working tirelessly to spread awareness by holding demonstrations (one was held outside the Chinese Embassy in Paris today), sending correspondence to Chinese Consulates, tracking abusers, and contacting their employers and schools so they face repercussions.
Recently, a top student was denied admission to multiple graduate schools due to his role as an administrator of a cat torture group. This fantastic development which transpired due in part to the campaign in combination with the actions of Chinese animal lovers and activists, have sparked important conversations about animal cruelty and legislation in Chinese media.
