Does anyone have any info on using ground flaxseed to help constipation in cats? I remember reading something on it awhile back but can't remember where I saw it or if it was even on this site.

Thanks!

Yes it is rich in omegas and has fiber the insouble and soulbe kind... flax oil would be better since it has concetrated goodies thou some fiber is lost

I'd like to know more about this too. Does anyone know how much flaxseed or flax oil you'd give a kitty? How do I *know* it's safe for kitty?

Thanks for the info sharky!

I have the ground flaxseed on hand though, do you know how much of that kind is useful....I may have to get the capsules though.

JeanW...flaxseed is ok for cats, it's used as an ingredient in alot of the higher quailty dry cat foods.

The seeds do work.. but they are not concetrate and takes a lb or something for a few tablespoons( mine like the ground.. must taste good... try a tbls of ground mixed to see if the "kids" will eat
