We made the loving decision to put Callie to sleep this afternoon as her body was ravaged by chronic renal failure. She passed so peacefully and I held her in my arms as she took her final breaths and her heart stopped beating. What a brave soul she was!
Callie wandered into my life and into my heart in 1998. It only took me a few minutes to fall in love with her and become her human. She was a loyal & faithful companion and loving friend, a constant, peaceful presence who leaves behind a huge hole in my heart and in our family. There will never be another kitty like my precious girl. When her heart stopped beating this afternoon, part of mine stopped, too. She was a fighter in life and a fighter in death.
Thank you my sweet Callie girl so much for all you've taught me about kitties and about facing life. You were a brave girl taking a chance on a newbie cat owner. Thank you for choosing me to be your Meowmy. Thank you for accepting "that man" and calling him your Daddy and being there for him as he's recovered from back surgery. Thank you for accepting Hannah and for teaching Tumbles how to be a kitty. Thank you for blessing my life with so much love, joy, and laughter. You were such a low-maintenance kitty. You appreciated so much a safe home, a comfy spot to rest, a nice sunbeam, and a steady supply of food.
Play, run, and pounce freely in kitty heaven, my darling girl. Know how well you were loved and how much you'll be missed.
Good bye my sweetie. Meowmy loves you so much.
